What is changing?
The EU has increased the MRL for folpet on lettuces from the limit of determination (LOD, the lowest level that can be detected using the most modern and reliable analytical methods) of 0.03 to 1.5 mg/kg.
Why?
An application was submitted to request a modification of the MRL for folpet in lettuces. EFSA (2022) assessed the application and concluded the requested MRL is safe for consumers.
Timeline
The Regulation enters into force on 19 June 2023 and is directly applicable.
