Additive: preparation of Lentilactobacillus diolivorans DSM 33625 (previously known as Lactobacillus diolivorans DSM 33625)

Regulation 2023/1713
Additive: preparation of endo-1,4-beta-xylanase produced by Trichoderma reesei ATCC PTA-5588, protease produced by Bacillus subtilis ATCC SD-2107 and alpha-amylase produced by Bacillus licheniformis ATCC SD-6525
Use: digestibility enhancer
Target: chickens for fattening, chickens reared for laying, and minor poultry species
Authorisation renewals
Regulation 2023/1703: preparation of endo-1,4-beta-xylanase produced by Trichoderma reesei CBS 143953 and endo-1,3(4)-beta-glucanase produced by T. reesei CBS 143945 (poultry species, weaned piglets, pigs for fattening, lactating sows and minor porcine species)
Regulation 2023/1704: preparation of Pediococcus pentosaceus DSM 23376 (all animal species)
Regulation 2023/1708: urea (ruminants with a functional rumen)
Regulation 2023/1710: ammonium chloride (cats, dogs, sows)
Regulation 2023/1711: preparation of the fermentation product of Aspergillus oryzae NRRL 458 (dairy cows)
Why?
Applications for the above authorisations/renewals were submitted and considered by the Reference Laboratory set up by the Feed Additives Regulation (1831/2003). In the case of renewals, conclusions and recommendations reached in previous assessments were considered to remain valid and applicable.
Timeline
These Regulations enter into force on 28 September 2023. All authorisations (including renewals) remain valid until 28 September 2033.
Transitional period
Substances and premixtures containing the preparations specified in Regulations 2023/1703, 2023/1707 and 2023/1711, if produced and labelled before 28 March 2024 in accordance with the rules applicable before 28 September 2023, may continue to be placed on the market and used until the existing stocks are exhausted.
Compound feed and feed materials produced and labelled before 28 September 2024 that contain the specified preparations may continue to be placed on the market and used until the existing stocks are exhausted.
What are the major implications for exporting countries?
With these new applications, more feed additives will be available on the market. Authorisations and renewals are valid for 10 years. The use of all preparations and substances specified as feed additives must comply with the provisions of use specified in the Annex to each Regulation from 28 March 2024 onwards.
Recommended Actions
Non-EU countries producing feed additives, compound feed and feed materials for export to the EU are recommended to check the status of the feed additives in the EU Feed Additives register.
