What is changing?
The EU has raised the import tariff for husked rice (CN code 1006 20) other than husked basmati rice, from €30/tonne to €42.50/tonne.
Why?
The import tariff for husked rice other than basmati rice is set according to imports in the previous marketing year (September–August).

The revised import tariff applies from 6 September 2024.
Background
The procedure for establishing import tariffs for husked rice other than basmati rice – the result of negotiations with the USA – is set out in Council Decision 2005/476/EC.
