The European Union (EU) has increased the maximum residue level (MRL) for hexythiazox on blackberries and raspberries following a request for an import tolerance.

What is changing?
The EU has raised the MRL for hexythiazox on blackberries and raspberries from 0.01 to 3 mg/kg.
Why?
The EU received an application for an import tolerance MRL for the use of hexythiazox on blackberries and raspberries in the USA. Based on an evaluation by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA 2024), it concluded that there are no risks to consumers at the proposed levels.
Timeline
The new MRLs apply from 23 July 2025.
