Update

The European Union (EU) proposes to increase the maximum residue levels (MRLs) for cyflufenamid on several berries and small fruits, and on parsley.

Blueberries, cranberries, currants (black, red, white), gooseberries (green, red, yellow), rose hips, mulberries (black and white), azaroles/Mediterranean medlars, elderberries, parsley

What is changing?

The EU proposes to adopt increased MRLs for cyflufenamid as summarised in Table 1.

Why?

A modification of the existing MRLs for cyflufenamid was requested for parsley, blackberries, raspberries (red and yellow), and “other small fruits and berries”. The European Food Safety Authority has concluded that the proposed MRLs are acceptable with regard to consumer safety (EFSA 2025).

Timeline

The new MRLs are expected to apply from February 2026.

What is changing and why?

The European Union (EU) is proposing to increase the maximum residue levels (MRLs) for cyflufenamid on parsley, blackberries, raspberries (red and yellow), and other small fruits and berries, as summarised in Table 1. An evaluation by the European Food Safety Authority concluded that the proposed MRLs are safe for consumers.

Timeline

The new MRLs are expected to apply from February 2026.
