Maximum residue levels for metobromuron

Summary
The EU has established MRLs for metobromuron on lamb’s lettuces/ corn salads, potatoes, sunflower seeds and soyabeans. MRLs for all other products will be set at the limit of determination (LOD) of 0.01–0.1 mg/kg.

The EU has established MRLs for metobromuron on lamb’s lettuces/ corn salads, potatoes, sunflower seeds and soyabeans. MRLs for all other products will be set at the limit of determination (LOD) of 0.01–0.1 mg/kg.

What is changing?
The EU has introduced the new MRLs set out in Table 1.
MRLs for all other products are set at the limit of determination (LOD).
Why?
On the basis of EFSA’s (2021) review of the MRLs for metobromuron, the Commission proposes the establishment of an MRL for lamb’s lettuce/corn salads.
Timeline
The new MRLs will apply from 16 August 2023.
