Summary
The EU has reduced MRLs for topramezone to the limit of determination (LOD: 0.005–0.02 mg/kg) on all products, applicable from August 2023, including existing MRLs on pulses, oilseeds and oil fruits.

Update
The EU has reduced MRLs for topramezone to the limit of determination (LOD: 0.005–0.02 mg/kg) on all products, applicable from August 2023, including existing MRLs on pulses, oilseeds and oil fruits.

What is changing?
The changes to MRLs are listed in Table 1.
In addition, for many products the LOD is decreased from 0.01 to 0.005 mg/kg (0.002 mg/kg for milk).
Why?
In 2020, all applications relating to the reapproval of topramezone for use in the EU were withdrawn.
Timeline
The new MRLs will apply from 12 August 2023. For products imported into the EU before that date, the old MRLs will apply.
Recommended Actions
Suppliers of pulses, oilseeds and oil fruits on which topramezone is currently used should seek alternative solutions, substances or good agricultural practices to ensure compliance by August 2023.
