What is changing?
The EU has revised the limit values for the characteristics of Δ-7-stigmastenol for all categories of olive oil set out in Delegated Regulation 2022/2104.
The revised limit values are set out in Table 1.
Why?
The International Olive Council (IOC) amended the IOC Trade Standard for olive oil and olive-pomace oil in November 2022. The EU voted in favour of this amendment (Council Decision 2022/2391) and has therefore revised the EU marketing standards for olive oil in line with the IOC standard.

The revised limit values apply from 10 June 2024.
