What is changing?

For the listed herbs and edible flowers, the MRL for profenofos is decreasing from 0.05 to 0.03 mg/kg.

Why?

On the basis of recent monitoring data submitted to EFSA, it was concluded that residues of profenofos have decreased, allowing the setting of a lower MRL. Residues of this substance will continue to be monitored and will be re-evaluated in 2030.

Timeline

New MRLs for profenofos will apply from 14 September 2023.

Background

MRLs are set in accordance with the rules set out in Regulation 396/2005. For information on current MRLs for other substances, please consult the EU Pesticide Residues database.
