What is changing?
The following product names have been entered in the EU geographical indications register (eAmbrosia):
- “Bursa Siyah İnciri / Bursa Siyahı” as a PDO for fresh figs of the “Dürdane” variety, from Bursa province, Türkiye (4 September 2024)
- The PGI “Manisa Mesir Macunu” for a traditional sweet produced in the province of Manisa, Türkiye (4 November 2024)
Why?
No reasoned statement of opposition under Regulation (EU) 1151/2012 has been received within the relevant time period against the products entered in eAmbrosia (peaches, peanuts, and polyfloral honey from Türkiye).

- “Manisa Mesir Macunu” registered as a PGI: 24 November 2024
Background
Applications for registration of PDOs and PGIs received by the European Commission are published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
If no statement of opposition has been received by the Commission within 3 months, the PDO/PGI is entered in the EU geographical indications register (eAmbrosia) and granted protection in the EU (Regulation 2024/1143).
